Family Outreach helps meet the health needs of young individuals with disabilities.
A 3-year-old boy has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is very sensitive to loud noises, which makes it difficult for him and/or his family to enjoy out-of-home activities. The funds received from United Way will be utilized to purchase some noise reduction headphones. These will help him block some of the noise that bothers him and enable him and his family to enjoy outside activities.
Julie had the opportunity to see how these headphones helped a young boy at the Special Olympics block the loud noises emanating in the halls of the Butte Civic Center.
